| The International Real Estate Federation was founded in Paris, France in 1948 as the Federation Internationale des Administrateurs de Biens et Conseils Immobiliers, and the French acronym, “FIABCI,” is still used today to signify the original international association of associations devoted to all real estate specialties and activities. Operating chapters in over sixty countries and comprising over one hundred twenty-five national real estate related associations, and the most prestigious international real estate universities as academic members, the FIABCI family encompasses two million real estate professionals worldwide. The Asian Public Real Estate Association (APREA) was established in July 2005 to promote, develop and represent the Asia Pacific listed (publicly-traded) real estate sector. APREA aims to create a market based on international best-practice standards that will facilitate local, regional and international investment in the sector. This includes the development of a robust reporting and corporate governance structure to promote investor confidence.
APREA is a non-profit, non-aligned industry association. It has similar objectives to the equivalent associations in the US (NAREIT) and Europe (EPRA) and works very closely with those organisations and national organisations such as ARES (Japan) and the Property Council of Australia. It has chapters in Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore and plans the creation of further chapters during 2008.
Countries and areas represented: Australia, China, Hong Kong, Middle East, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, India, Vietnam, South Korea, Pakistan, Malaysia.

The Realtor Association of Greater Miami and the Beaches was chartered by the National Association of Realtors in 1920 and is celebrating its 88th Anniversary of service to Realtors, the buying and selling public, and the communities in South Florida.
